Product Hunt: 4 upvotes and 16 pitches

We launched on Product Hunt on 19 October. Result: 4 upvotes, a rank around 50 for the day, about a dozen visitors from Product Hunt, 0 signups. We also received 16 unsolicited pitches selling us upvotes, Reddit marketing and "Xero user signups".

Product Hunt is full of makers, and makers don't need a tool that emails Xero reports to bookkeepers. That was obvious in hindsight.

What showed up instead

Search traffic started to arrive, and so did a few visits from ChatGPT and Gemini. For an app that was four days old I found that surprising, so I added an llms.txt file, a plain summary of the product for language models to read.
